You may wonder....why empty nester moms?
For many years, I was mainly a stay-at-home mom with an occasional side gig as an actor or speech-language pathologist. As my kids approached their college years, I felt like I was losing my purpose. My life had been so invested in my kids. And, in the process, I forgot what it was like to take care of myself. And, I didn't feel good in my skin.
I started researching ways to get healthy and learned about functional medicine. This approach resonated with me so much that I went back to school to become a functional medicine certified health coach and national board certified health and wellness coach.
As an almost empty nester, I know what it's like to put myself last. And, I want to help other empty nesters (or almost) to reclaim their health and to discover who they want to be in this next chapter.
I also understand the hormonal changes and dissatisfaction with one’s body as they go through menopausal changes.
I want to empower other midlife moms with the knowledge that they can change their bodies and find incredible vitality.....even as we age.

My philosophy
WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT OUR WELL-BEING
I don't believe in Diets
I don’t believe in diets. I believe in simple lifestyle changes. Diets are filled with unsustainable rules and cause unwanted stress.
I don’t believe that improving your health is a one size fits all approach. Different things work for different people.
I believe the midlife years are a time for renewal and self-discovery. We don’t need to stagnate when our kids fly the coop.

“I'm grateful for the way that Shani pushes me to slow down, cut through lots of noise, and center in on what's truly important and valuable to me”
I appreciate the way that Shani has helped me examine the various threads of my life - who I am relationally, physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, financially, and more - and continues to encourage me as I weave these strands into a more balanced, focused, and healthy whole. She's incredibly skilled at guiding me toward appropriate, realistic goals and then challenging me to take concrete, practical action each week toward more fully becoming the person I want to be. As an achiever, artist, and empath who is always teeming with lots of thoughts, ideas, and feelings - and always on the move - I'm grateful for the way that Shani pushes me to slow down, cut through lots of noise, and center in on what's truly important and valuable to me.
